Seabourn Pursuit Crew Delivers Cyclone Relief to Papua New Guinea Communities
During a recent stop in Papua New Guinea, Seabourn Pursuit became more than an expedition vessel – it became a source of support.
In the aftermath of Cyclone Maila, which devastated the region this year, the ship’s team collected and delivered four tons of food and essential supplies to the Alotau Provincial Wharf in Milne Bay, including fresh produce, non-perishable food and onboard items such as sheets and towels to help families recover.
What started as a conversation quickly grew into a ship-wide effort, with crew, staff and expedition team members coming together to contribute.
“Expedition travel gives us the opportunity to connect with some of the world’s most remote communities,” said Dominic Del Rosario, Seabourn Pursuit’s expedition leader. “When we learned about the impact Cyclone Maila had, the team immediately wanted to find a way to help.”
For those on board, the effort became a meaningful reminder that even small acts, when shared across a team, can make a difference for the communities they visit.
