Princess Cruises and Holland America Line Earn Repeat Recognition from Vancouver Fraser Port Authority
Princess Cruises and Holland America Line were both recently recognized with Blue Circle honors from the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, and it’s the kind of recognition that means a lot.
Awarded as part of the port’s EcoAction Program, the Blue Circle Awards highlight operators with strong, fleetwide participation in sustainability-focused initiatives and measurable progress. Both cruise lines were honored for investing in technologies and operational practices that reduce air emissions, lower greenhouse gases and lessen impact on marine life.
Princess Cruises also received a special mention for its work with the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority to measure and quantify how air lubrication systems, which cushion ships atop a layer of underwater bubbles, help to reduce underwater noise.
These latest honors are part of a bigger story, with Princess and Holland America Line having now earned a combined 28 Blue Circle awards over the years – a clear reflection of our ongoing commitment to sustainability.
Canada is a key destination for our guests and an important partner in our operations. Together these honors reflect how both cruise lines are investing in technologies and solutions aimed at reducing our environmental footprint to help protect what makes the country so special.
