Doreen serves as company secretary for Carnival Corporation & plc and has oversight of securities and capital markets transactions, corporate governance and board-related matters. Doreen brings more than 35 years of legal experience to the role. She reports to Enrique Miguez, General Counsel for the company.

Joining Carnival Corporation in 1995, Doreen has dedicated nearly three decades to the company where she has been pivotal in high-level legal, securities, financing and corporate governance matters, along with playing a key role in legal decision-making and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

She also serves on the company’s Disclosure Committee, Conflicts Evaluation Committee and Corporate Vision Award Committee.

Corporate & Charitable Leadership

Doreen is a member of the Board of Directors for the Carnival/Princess Holland America Line Inc. Political Action Committee, which supports candidates for federal office or non-federal office, where permissible, who will enhance the protection, preservation, and development of public policy that will create an economic environment in which the company’s North American operations and the passenger cruise line industry can prosper and excel.  

Doreen is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Deering Estate Foundation, Inc., a community-based charitable organization whose mission is to raise public awareness, outreach, understanding and enjoyment of the Deering Estate and to raise funds to support education, research, exhibits, natural conservation and historical restoration and preservation.  She is also a member of the 100 Ladies of Deering, a philanthropic group of women dedicated to preserving the Deering Estate, and serves on both the Marketing and Furnishings and Design Committees.

She has served in various leadership roles including President of both Miami Women’s Panhellenic and the Zeta Tau Alpha Alumnae chapter, where she currently serves as vice president of finance. These organizations promote intra-fraternal relations, advance interest in community service and philanthropic efforts and provide qualified students with scholarships.

From 2013 to 2019, she served on the Board of Directors of the First Tee of Miami-Dade Foundation, Inc., which provides strategic direction to the First Tee of Miami to impact the lives of Miami-Dade County youth by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

She has lectured at the University of Miami School of Law.  She is also a member of the Society for Corporate Governance and the South Florida chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Doreen earned a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida State University.

She lives in Pinecrest, Florida.
