Carnival Corporation Again Named as One of The Best Employers for Diversity

World’s largest cruise company honored for fifth consecutive year on Forbes’ annual listing of U.S. companies advancing diversity, equity and inclusion

MIAMI (May 10, 2023) – Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), the world’s largest cruise company, today announced it was named for the fifth consecutive year as one of the Best Employers for Diversity for 2023 by Forbes, a leading source of business news worldwide. The prestigious annual listing recognizes the top employers in the U.S. for their success in cultivating a work environment that embraces and celebrates diversity. Out of the top 500 companies included on the list across 25 major industries, Carnival Corporation ranked fourth in the travel and leisure industry and was the only cruise company recognized overall.

Presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., a leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, the listing of The Best Employers for Diversity was determined through a survey of approximately 45,000 U.S. employees working for companies with at least 1,000 employees who anonymously rated their workplaces based on criteria such as age, gender, ethnicity, disability and LGBTQ+ equality, as well as general diversity. Underrepresented groups were also given the chance to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stand out either positively or negatively with regard to diversity. Based on these direct and indirect employee recommendations, and an evaluation of diversity-related best practices – such as the presence of employee resource groups, the publication of diversity data and the percentage of women in board and executive positions – Forbes recognized only the top 500 companies out of thousands of organizations.

“At Carnival Corporation, we strive to be the employer of choice for hospitality, travel and leisure careers, and we proudly celebrate our diverse workforce of over 160,000 employees representing 150 countries who mirror the 700 ports and destinations we visit around the world,” said Bettina Deynes, global chief human resources officer for Carnival Corporation. “Our success stems from the talent and dedication of our team members, who are at the heart of inspiring unforgettable happiness for our guests, so we continue to make it a priority to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where our people can grow and thrive. We are honored to once again be recognized by Forbes alongside other companies who are dedicated to the same commitment.”

The recognition as one of America's Best Employers for Diversity builds on a series of other distinguished honors Carnival Corporation has earned for its companywide operations and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
