Meet the Vendor: From Kitchen Experiments to Food Truck Fame

When the world slowed down in 2020, Avery and Natalia found themselves with time – and a craving for creativity.

“I was just playing around, making donuts,” said Natalia. “I’ve always wanted to own a food truck, but I never imagined it would be a mini donut truck.”

What started as a hobby quickly turned into a business idea. They found a donut machine, loaded up on toppings and began dreaming up a mobile donut experience that was fun, fresh and full of flavor.

One bite changed everything.

“It wasn’t until I tasted the donut that I believed in it,” Avery admitted.

The first version of Mini Donut King was a black trailer with no windows. But the couple poured their talents into transforming it.

“He came up with the design and the logo,” said Natalia. “I came up with the name. We built this business from scratch.”

Their branding was bold, their flavors were fun and their donuts were hot and fresh.

Natalia spotted a flyer for Celebration Key on Facebook and decided to take a chance.

“I told my husband, ‘Let’s apply. There’s nothing wrong with trying.’”

The Celebration Key team visited their food truck and were instantly impressed.

“They said, ‘This looks so fun’ – and it is!” Natalia recalled. “We wanted them to see that our business is all about fun.”

Then, after the taste test was complete, the call came in: Mini Donut King was officially part of Celebration Key.

“I had to put on a professional face,” Natalia said, “But inside I was screaming, ‘YES!’”

To meet the high demand, Mini Donut King is doubling its capacity – serving up to 1,200 donuts per hour.

“The aroma alone is going to pull people in,” said Avery. “It’s very attractive.”

Avery and Natalia are also launching exclusive flavors, including the Pink Flamingo – a pink donut topped with coconut flakes, inspired by the island’s iconic bird.

They’re also introducing shaved ices, with tropical flavors like the Bahamian ‘Ting,’ featuring pineapple and blue coconut, topped with a mini Bahamian flag.

“This means the world to us,” said Natalia. “To explore a new venue, a new destination and make a great impression on guests.”

Mini Donut King is one of 57 Bahamian vendors proudly featured at Celebration Key, a destination designed to celebrate local flavor and entrepreneurial spirit. Carnival Corporation’s partnership with these businesses reflects a deep commitment to shared value and economic impact – creating opportunities for growth, visibility and community engagement across the Bahamas. By spotlighting vendors like Avery and Natalia, Celebration Key is not only serving up unforgettable guest experiences but also investing in the future of local enterprise.

So, when you visit Celebration Key, follow your nose – and your sweet tooth.
