AIDAnova kicks off as the 10th ship in the fleet

This morning, on 13 December 2021, AIDAnova arrived in the port of Hamburg for the first time. Upon arrival, crew and ship sent a loving message of light "We ❤ HH" to the people of Hamburg along the Elbe. Since her arrival in the wintry Hanseatic city, the final preparations have been made for the welcome of the first guests and the start of the first cruise tomorrow, Tuesday, 14 December 2021. AIDAnova will then already be the 10th AIDA cruise ship to be launched again this year. The world's first cruise ship to be powered 100 per cent by low emission liquefied natural gas (LNG) was awarded the German government's Blue Angel two years ago for its environmentally friendly ship design. More about the use of LNG on board AIDAnova in the video: https://youtu.be/_lInkXtozOM.

For the upcoming holiday voyages, AIDAnova has been transformed into a winter wonderland: Oversized Christmas light installations and festively decorated fir trees are waiting to be marvelled at by guests young and old. The first of two Advent cruises leads from/to Hamburg from 14 to 19 December 2021 to Kristiansand and Oslo. The voyage from 19 to 22 December 2021 will call at Kristiansand. On both premiere voyages, AIDA gourmet godmother Andrea Schirmaier-Huber will be on board, among others. Guests will have the opportunity to create tasty biscuits and Christmas chocolates together with the well-known TV chef. The AIDA Show Ensemble will return on board AIDAnova in time for the festive season. The singers and dancers will provide magical Christmas moments in the Theatrium. The successful formats, such as "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", also return to the stages. A new participatory event is the "Upgrade Show", where guests from two inside cabins each play with packed suitcases for an upgrade to a veranda cabin while the cruise is still in progress.

The full festive program is offered on the voyage from 22 December 2021 to 8 January 2022 from Hamburg to Gran Canaria. Guests experience the turn of the year in Funchal/Madeira. One of the most spectacular fireworks displays in the world is held there every year. The festive voyages can also be booked in a shorter version from or to Lisbon.

From January to April 2022, AIDAnova will sail to some of the most beautiful islands in the Spanish archipelago: Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. The Canaries are one of the classics for all those who want to soak up the sun even in winter.

On board AIDAnova, guests can look forward to 17 restaurants and 23 bars, a double water slide and climbing garden, the Beach Club, the Theatrium with its 360° stage, the TV studio and the spacious Body & Soul Organic Spa.

With the extended AIDA health and safety concept, guests can enjoy their holidays relaxed and safe at the same time. All AIDA cruises take place with an adjusted passenger capacity. In addition to the regulations on vaccination protection and the additional COVID-19 tests before arrival, the comprehensive preventive measures include regular health checks on board and extensive AHA rules. Comprehensive care is provided around the clock in the Medical Centres, which are equipped with the latest COVID-19 testing devices, among other things.
