Sture Myrmell

President

Effective October 18, 2021, Sture Myrmell became president of Carnival UK, the UK’s largest cruise operator, overseeing both P&O Cruises and Cunard. In addition, Myrmell also serves as president of Cunard, overseeing Cunard’s operations and its fleet of three ships, which includes the world’s only operating ocean liner, the Queen Mary 2.

Myrmell is responsible for leading all performance and operational aspects of Carnival UK. With more than 20 years of experience at Carnival Corporation, Myrmell serves as a member of the global leadership team for the company and is involved in the development of strategy, policy and operational practices across the business.

Prior to joining Carnival UK, Myrmell held the dual role of president of P&O Cruises Australia and president of Carnival Australia. From January 2016, he had direct responsibility for the P&O Cruises Australia fleet, Australia’s home-grown cruise line. His remit was expanded in December 2017 when he was appointed president of Carnival Australia with regional responsibility for managing the shared services group that supports a number of internal and external functions across Carnival Corporation’s brands in this market.

Since 2008, Myrmell has been core to transforming P&O Cruises Australia and its service delivery into a product that truly reflects modern Australia. During his career, he has also been responsible for Commercial, Guest Experience and Product Development for the cruise line’s fleet in Australia and New Zealand, as well as the Fleet Personnel department and Hotel Supply Chain.

Prior to Carnival Australia, Myrmell spent 15 years with Princess Cruises in California and Cunard Line and Seabourn in Florida, covering positions in Food & Beverage, Hotel Operation, Newbuild and Product Development.

Myrmell first started his career at sea with Cunard. Myrmell was born in Norway and has an innate passion for good food and wine and the pursuit of activities and experiences in the great outdoors. His interest in these areas has also helped shape his professional life in identifying opportunities that can translate to the onboard experience for cruise guests.
