Holland America Line Hosts Fundraiser and Survivor Luncheon for Komen Puget Sound Aboard ms Westerdam

Survivor Juliet Disparte gives inspiring speech to attendees

Seattle, Wash., Oct.5, 2016 — HollandAmerica Line hosted a fundraiser luncheon and survivor celebration for thePuget Sound affiliate of Susan G. Komen Puget Sound on Saturday, Sept. 10,2016, onboard ms Westerdam at the Port of Seattle. Breast cancersurvivor Juliet Disparte gave an inspiring speech about her journey from herdiagnosis at the age of 27 to her current role in numerous cancerorganizations.

Toenhance the celebrations, the band Cinderella's Dirty Little Secret entertainedattendees in the ship's main show lounge during the program. Prior to theentertainment, guests enjoyed lunch in the main dining room.

"Canceris a disease that affects nearly everyone in some way, and by supportingorganizations like Susan G. Komen we're able to join the fight in finding acure," said HollandAmerica Line President Orlando Ashford. "This is our 10th year ofhosting this luncheon and we always look forward to celebrating with survivors,as well as helping the organization's efforts to eradicate this disease."

Guestspeaker Juliet Disparte was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 at the age of27. Since her diagnosis, Disparte has been named an Education Ambassador withBright Pink, joined the Stakeholder Advisory Board for Young Women with BreastCancer at The Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and alsois an active volunteer with Komen Puget Sound.

Each year, Holland America Line hosts more than 25shipboard charity luncheons for nearly 5,000 guests in its homeport cities.
