AIDA Cruises receives latest member of the fleet – AIDAperla

ModelLena Gercke to christen AIDA's twelfth new ship on June 30 in Palma de Mallorca

Today(April 27, 2017), AIDA Cruises took delivery of AIDAperla in Nagasaki (Japan) fromMitshubishi Heavy Industries (MHI). In the presence of Michael Thamm, CEO CostaGroup, Felix Eichhorn, President AIDA Cruises, Shunichi Miyanaga, President andCEO MHI, and Kazuaki Kimura, President and CEO, Industry & InfrastructureMHI, the solemn commissioning of the 12th fleet member of AIDA Cruises tookplace in the course of a traditional Japanese ceremony.

AIDAperlawill set sail for the Mediterranean in the coming days and will be christenedby model and presenter Lena Gercke on June 30, 2017, in Palma de Mallorca.

Startingfrom June 1, 2017, before the official launch of the christening cruise on June24, 2017, there will be the opportunity to familiarize with the youngest fleetmember on a number of introductory cruises. The fife-day welcome cruise fromJune 1, to June 6, 2017, from Palma de Mallorca, leads to Marseille, Barcelonaund Valencia. Prices for this cruise start at 549 euros per person in aninterior stateroom (AIDA PREMIUM rate incl. 50-euro Early Saver discount).

FromJuly 1, 2017, AIDAperla will be traveling in the Western Mediterranean. Palmade Mallorca – the capital of the Germans' favorite island – and Barcelona willbe the start and end ports for the seven-day "Pearls of the Mediterranean"cruises which include destinations such as Rome (Civitavecchia), Corsica, andFlorence (Livorno).

FromMarch 2018 the Hanseatic City of Hamburg will be the home port of multipleseven-day round trips for AIDAperla to the most beautiful metropolises inWestern Europe, such as London (Southampton), Paris (Le Havre), Brussels(Zeebrugge) and Rotterdam.
