Colourful Dr. Seuss WaterWorks Park to Feature on New Carnival Horizon

CarnivalCruise Line has announced that its newest ship, the 133,500-tonne Carnival Horizon,will be the first in its fleet to feature Dr. Seuss WaterWorks, a vibrant waterpark inspired by the whimsical world and words of the legendary children'sauthor.

Dr. SeussWaterWorks builds upon the line's distinction as the family cruise leadercarrying nearly 800,000 kids a year, as well as the incredible success of thefleetwide Seuss at Sea program, an exclusive partnership with Dr. SeussEnterprises that features immersive onboard Dr. Seuss-themed youth, family,dining and entertainment experiences.

Located onDeck 12 of the 3934-passenger Carnival Horizon – which will debut in Europe inApril 2018 – Dr. Seuss WaterWorks will offer two distinctly different slides,each promising their own ‘splash-tastic' fun.

Inspired byeveryone's favourite feline, The Cat in the Hat slide will feature an enclosedraft slide offering 137 metres of heart-racing twists and turns. Theentrance resembles The Cat's famous red and white hat with the distinctivecolour pattern carried throughout the slide in alternating translucent andopaque sections.

The FunThings slide is sure to be equally fun, featuring an enclosed body slide withwhimsical polka dots and special lighting effects. Named after the mischievous duo Thing 1 andThing 2, it offers 65 metres of exhilarating all-ages fun. Dr. Seuss WaterWorks will also include atipping bucket patterned after The Cat's hat, along with a splash zone withdozens of water spray toys. Larger-than-lifeimages of famous Dr. Seuss characters will greet visitors as they enter thepark, with memorable Dr. Seuss phrases displayed on clear partitions around thepark.

"Dr. Seuss is an iconic Americanbrand and we're delighted to expand our partnership with this incredibletop-deck water attraction for our guests."

Dr. SeussEnterprises President Susan Brandt said the company was excited to build on itsrelationship with Carnival by introducing its first ever water park. "Dr.Seuss is all about family fun and togetherness and we can't wait to see ourcharacters come to life in this colourful and exciting space," Ms Brandt said.

Dr. SeussWaterWorks is just one of several family-friendly features on Carnival Horizonwhich will feature the groundbreaking bike-ride-in-the-sky attraction calledSkyRide, an IMAX Theatre and the SportSquare outdoor recreation area with asuspended ropes course. CarnivalHorizon will also feature the Dr. Seuss Bookville family reading and play venueand popular Seuss at Sea activities like The Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast withThe Cat in the Hat and Friends and the Seuss-a-palooza Parade and Story Time.

CarnivalHorizon is scheduled to make its maiden voyage on April 2, 2018, with a 13-dayMediterranean cruise from Barcelona – the first of four roundtrip departuresfrom this port before the ship repositions to the US.
