Carnival Puts Fun Times on the Go with New Mobile App
CarnivalCruise Line has launched its free mobile app, Carnival Hub, on itsAustralia–based ships, giving guests instant access to all the fun onboard.
Guestswill be able to use the Carnival Hub to maximise their fun throughout theircruise, with the app featuring the cruise line's Fun Times daily activitiesschedule as well as a ‘favourites' function allowing guests to bookmark theday's best events. Other features include a reminder to attend chosen events, searchabledeck plans with attractions highlighted, itinerary details including portvisits and a real-time shipboard account balance.
Fora one-off fee per cruise of AU$9, the app also offers a ‘chat' function, makingit easy to connect with family and friends onboard. The function automatically addsguests travelling together to a contact list, making it easy to arrange to catchup with friends and family while unique identification number allows guests toadd new friends to their chat contacts.
CarnivalHub is now live on Carnival Spirit and will be offered on Carnival Legend from February23, 2017. It is available for iPhone and Android users via the app store.
Guestscan download the app before they travel, set up a profile and enter their nextcruise departure date to start the countdown and share with friends. It canalso be downloaded for free onboard using a special internet package.
CarnivalCruise Line Vice President Jennifer Vandekreeke said the Carnival Hub app wouldchange the way guests enjoyed their cruise holidays.
"TheCarnival Hub app really puts guests in control of their cruise holiday, so theynever miss any of the fun onboard, and can easily plan their day from besidethe pool, hop from a live show to a gym class, arrange to meet friends andfamily and even catch up with new friends," Ms Vandekreeke said.
Newfunctions, like the ability to make spa and restaurant bookings were expected tocome online throughout the year, she said.
Meanwhilethe ships' Fun Times daily diary will also be available in a reduced-size paperformat, which, together with the app's introduction, means a win for theenvironment with a 50 per cent reduction in paper used to print the newsletter onboard.
