AIDA Cruises: New Year’s raffle to support the SOS Children’s Villages

For 10 years AIDA Cruises hassupported the work of SOS Children’s Villages with donations from the proceedsof the raffle which is traditionally held on December 31 on board the AIDAfleet. This year the money raised will again benefit the SOS aid project inIloilo in the Philippines as well as the SOS Children’s Villages organization inGermany. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

“With the proceeds from thetraditional New Year’s raffle on board the ships, AIDA has been supportingchildren’s aid projects all over the world for many years. This year we areagain pleased about everyone who purchases a ticket and together with AIDAtakes responsibility for children who urgently need our support,” says MonikaGriefahn, Chief Sustainability Officer at AIDA Cruises. As prizes for theraffle, AIDA Cruises donates a total of 20 cruises and many valuable materialprizes.

Supporting charitable projects isan important piece of the AIDA corporate culture and a matter that AIDA takesto heart. As a long-term partner, AIDA promotes numerous social and culturalinstitutions and maritime organizations, also sponsors sports, and since 2002has been the main sponsor of the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, one of thelargest classical music festivals in Germany.
