AIDA Cruises builds school in the Philippines with the Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP

In 2018 AIDA Cruises iscontinuing its ongoing commitment to social, cultural and charitable projects. OnMarch 9, 2018, at the ITB in Berlin, Hansjörg Kunze, Vice PresidentCommunication & Sustainability, presented a check for 42,265 euros to theReiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP for the reconstruction of anelementary school in Dinagat in the Philippines. The donation is part of themoney raised from a charity raffle that AIDA traditionally holds aboard theAIDA fleet on New Year's Eve. Severe floods destroyed many schools in theregion in December.

"Many of our employees aboard theAIDA fleet come from the Philippines, so working with the Reiner MeutschFoundation to provide direct help on the ground and give children the chance toattend school is a matter very close to our heart," Hansjörg Kunze, VicePresident Communication & Sustainability said on presenting the check atthe ITB in Berlin.

A continuous commitment tocharitable projects is an important part of the AIDA corporate culture. Since2005 the company has supported various SOS-Children's Villages projects aroundthe world with over one million euros. Mercy Ships, which among others offersurgently required medical treatment in crisis regions on board of the hospitalship "Africa Mercy", does not alone receive financial aid, AIDA colleagues arealso working as volunteers aboard. The six prize-winners of the Goldene Bildder Frau 2017 were also happy to receive support of 10,000 euros each from AIDACruises in recognition of their services to charity.
