After First Sold Out Group, More Cruises Added to
Connect and Come Alongside Local Communities

(January 17, 2018) – Inan effort to provide support to local communities affected by the recenthurricanes in the Caribbean, and after the sell-out of the inaugural group onthe January 20, 2018 Crown Princess sailing, Princess Cruises and Fathom Travel are adding twoadditional spring sailings in 2018.
The Caribbean is open for business, but theseunique sailings allow guests to give with their hands and hearts to those whohave been impacted by the recent hurricanes. Due to a record sell-out on thefirst Fathom group sailing onboard Crown Princess, two additional dates havebeen added with seven-day Caribbean cruises, roundtrip from Ft. Lauderdale:

These sailings willinclude experienced small group leaders, impact guides, unique onboard eventsand activities, as well as opportunities on shore to make a difference in thelives of those living on the islands of the Caribbean.
Highlights of theinaugural 8-day Crown Princess sailing that visits Antiqua, St. Maarten, St.Thomas and Amber Cove include an in-depth immersion into island life, aconnection with local communities, a donation drop, and community care – withoptional activities including rebuilding, beach clean-up, reforestation andtherapy through arts.
In St. Thomas, the Princess/Fathomgroup will be doing a donation drop of more than 2000 items for young familiesworking with and supporting the St. Thomas Department of Health, Maternal andChild Health and St. Thomas Boys & Girls Club with significant help fromBaby Zone NYC and Aerostream in Miami.
While in St. Maarten, the group willbe focused on lending a hand in efforts needed by the tourism associationincluding the St. Maarten Nature Foundation and The National Institute of Arts.
The group's visit to the DominicanRepublic will be focused on rebuilding an entire community by repairing aschool and various homes that were damaged in past hurricane seasons. Partnersinclude Caritas Internationalis (a relief development and social serviceorganization), the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Environment and CivilDefense. Fathom Travel has been raising donations for Loma de la Bestia atyoucaring.org. Macorix House of Rum and Wild Play, both local Dominicancompanies, have been significant donors for the cause and many individualdonors have helped the cause as well. Fathom is still accepting donations forthe cause.
Once booked, Princess Cruises/Fathom guestse-mail community@fathom.org to join the group,and from there, they will receive onboard credits and special invitations toFathom on-board programming, networking, cocktail events and exclusive shoreexcursions.
