P&O’s Pacific Eden Makes First Visit to Mornington Peninsula
P&OCruises’ latest ship Pacific Eden has made history this morning, visiting MorningtonPeninsula for the first time as part of an eight-night itinerary taking inregional attractions along Australia’s south coast. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
Featuring a relaxed, stylish design which reflectsmodern Australia, the 55,820-tonne Pacific Eden is scheduled to spend the dayon Mornington Peninsula, with its 1500 guests spendingthe day exploring the Victorian region famous for its geothermal hot springsand charming seaside hamlets.
Pacific Eden’s call to Mornington Peninsula is thesecond maiden visit as part of her roundtrip cruise from Sydney. Following herfirst call to Eden on Sunday, Pacific Eden will make her maiden call toPortland tomorrow before visiting South Australia’s gourmet food hub KangarooIsland.
P&OCruises Australia President Sture Myrmell said Pacific Eden had received a warm welcome from thepeople of Mornington Peninsula.
“MorningtonPeninsula offers a wonderful opportunity for P&O’s cruise passengers toexplore a whole range of local attractions including waterfront dining at thehistoric township of Sorrento, a chance to swim with dolphins and a taste ofthe region’s fine wines,” Mr Myrmell said.
P&O Cruises’ ships will make three visits intotal to Mornington Peninsula in 2016, injecting more than half a milliondollars into the local economy.Pacific Eden will return on January 30, while Pacific Jewel will visitMornington on March 6, 2016.
