First-ever live broadcast of New Year's Evefireworks off Madeira from AIDAsol
The lastChristmas trees have now arrived on board: In Santa Cruz on the Canary Islandof Tenerife, AIDAcara received a Christmas delivery of 13 large and smallNordmann firs from Germany. The trees are now being festively decorated andplaced in the theater, restaurants, the bars and, of course, in the Kids Club.
CaptainLars Krüger is very happy about the delivery: "Christmas is of greatimportance to a seaman as well. This time of year especially brings thoughts ofloved ones back home and pulls the crew closer together. A festively decoratedChristmas tree is such an integral part of Christmas for the guests and for thecrew. We are looking forward to a peaceful celebration together on board."
ChristmasEve is heralded in on all AIDA ships with a Christmas dinner: From tender roastgoose with red cabbage and dumplings and traditional carp, and caviar buffet tocrispy gingerbread houses, AIDA restaurants are serving up all kinds ofculinary delights. The AIDA show ensemble and the crew ensure continued holidayspirit with the Christmas Party to follow. Singing traditional carols withguests and having the children put on a nativity play provides an onboardatmosphere that is full of holiday cheer.
AIDAcame up with an exciting program specifically for kids and teens. On ChristmasEve Santa Claus arrives to hand out presents. Youngsters can even spend thenight in the Kids Club afterwards. While parents spend a carefree eveningtogether, the children can enjoy Christmas stories in a cozy atmosphere wherethey will be tucked in safe and sound.

AIDACruises has a highlight in store for everybody at home this New Year's Eve: Forthe first time, AIDA will be bringing the unique festive atmosphere on boardAIDAsol into your living room. On New Year's Eve, starting at half pastmidnight German time, the crew will be broadcasting live from AIDAsol in thePort of Funchal on Madeira. At midnight local time (one hour behind), fireworkswill be set off at about 50 different spots on land for a spectacular fireworksdisplay that is one of the best and largest in the world. AIDA fans can watchit live online at www.aida.de, onsmartphones or by using the AIDA SmartTV App and ring in the New Year togetherwith guests and the crew of AIDAsol.
NewYear's Eve is traditionally celebrated with much color and cheer, fireworks,jelly-filled doughnuts and close friends. In keeping with the spirit, AIDAships will also be having a glamorous New Year's Eve celebration on board. Anexcellent New Year's Eve menu including a caviar buffet will leave no culinary desiresunfulfilled. The AIDA fleet's stages will provide a festive New Year's Partywith live music, shows and the AIDA show ensemble for guests to enjoy. OnboardDJs will then step in to keep up the festive atmosphere, followed by a specialtime for New Year's Wishes to officially usher in 2016.
