Hanse Sail 2016: AIDA Cruises sending two ships

As a long-time sponsor of the maritime festival, the cruiseoperator is also supporting the "Kruzenshtern" and the "Hanse-Tour-Sonnenscheine.V."

Formany years AIDA Cruises has already been supporting one of Germany's biggestmaritime festivals with a vast array of initiatives.

Forthe third time in a row AIDA Cruises has agreed to sponsor a ship for one ofthese major public attractions. Thanks to the support of the Rostock-basedcruise company, the venerable vessel "Kruzenshtern" will be a guest at the 26thHanse Sail from August 11–14, 2016. The "Kruzenshtern", a four-masted barque,is the only remaining ship still in service from the famous Flying-P Linersfleet owned by the shipping company, F. Laeisz, and it will form part of theimpressive windjammer parade that will be taking place next weekend against thepicturesque backdrop of Rostock-Warnemünde.

"Ourcontinued support of the "Hanse-Tour-Sonnenschein" in the 20th year of theassociation's existence is a matter very close to our hearts," says HansjörgKunze, Vice President Communication & Sustainability AIDA Cruises. "We wantour involvement to draw the attention of others to this project as well andmake a contribution towards both continuing to support research and making thelives of seriously ill children and their parents easier." AIDA Cruises donateda one-week AIDA cruise as a prize for the sweepstake held as part of thecharity cycling tour from August 10–13, 2016.

Thisyear AIDA Cruises will be bringing two of the eleven ships in its fleet to theHanse Sail. AIDAmar and AIDAdiva will visit Warnemünde on August 13 and August14, 2016 respectively. Both ships will be berthed at the cruise terminal from8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The arrival of AIDA ships at the Hanse Sail is always ahigh point for ship fans. Getting their respective 7 and 10-day cruises to themost beautiful Baltic metropolises off to a great start, AIDAmar and AIDAdivaguests will enjoy the maritime charm of the festival and, when the ships setsail, they will have one of the most spectacular views of Warnemünde from thepool deck. The AIDA Cruises' season in Rostock-Warnemünde comes to an end onOctober 15, 2016, with a final highlight: the cry of "cast off!" will be heardwhen AIDAmar sets off on its transatlantic crossing to New York via Hamburg,the Azores and Canada.

With41 arrivals in 2016, this year AIDA Cruises is once again the most importantpartner of the Hanseatic City of Rostock in the area of cruises, and one of thekey economic factors for the region as a whole.
