Rendezvous at sea

AIDAcara and AIDAprima set course for Hamburg together

The big moment finally arrived today, Friday, February 10, 2017 at 5:45 p.m. CET: Off the German Bight, around level with the Dutch island of Texel, AIDAcara met AIDAprima. Both ships of the fleet with the smiling lips set a course for Hamburg and will enter the port on Saturday morning, February 11, 2017 around 8:00 a.m. AIDAcara will dock at Altona, AIDAprima will take her customary berth at the Cruise Center Steinwerder.

At 8:00 p.m., it will be "cast off!" for AIDAcara as she sets out on the first ever AIDA Selection cruise. Before AIDAcara says goodbye to Hamburg there will be a short trip around the harbor. After turning at the Altona dock (8:00 – 8:20 p.m.), the ship will head for the HafenCity, passing the Elbphilharmonie concert hall at around 8:30 p.m. After a further turning maneuver (8:40 – 9:00 p.m.) she will sail down the Elbe towards Altona. AIDAprima will cast off at 9:00 p.m. and line up behind AIDAcara. Then from around 9:20 p.m. the two ships will parade in the direction of the North Sea with AIDAcara in front. The crowning highlight for guests on board will be at around 9:50 p.m. when the ship comes level with the Blankenese district where a fireworks display will signal the start of the first Selection cruise.
