Enjoy the most beautiful days of the year with AIDA Cruises

Festive Christmas and glamorous New Year's Eve parties on board the fleet with the smile

Advent is just around the corner and we can soon open the first door on our Advent calendars as well. Preparations for Christmas are well underway onboard the AIDA fleet. Guests aboard AIDprima can already enjoy festive winter treats such as "Mutzen", waffles and mulled wine, and explore the new ice rink 40 meters up, on Deck 16.

AIDA Cruises offers guests the choice of spending the holidays close to home in wintry temperatures or heading off for the sun and palm trees. With AIDA Cruises guests can enjoy ultra-atmospheric vacations up to the turn of the year both at sea and on shore. The eleven ships of the AIDA fleet will once again be offering numerous Advent, Christmas and New Year's cruises, with destinations ranging from the Caribbean to Northern Europe to Southeast Asia.

On their Canaries route, AIDAcara, AIDAblu und AIDAsol will be making a stop at Portugal's island of flowers, Madeira. The magnificent lights in the Madeiran capital, Funchal, are famous, and they will be illuminating the streets there starting on December 1. On December 24, AIDAcara will be docking at the Canary island of La Palma, AIDAblu at Madeira and AIDAsol at Tenerife. New Year's Eve, AIDAcara and AIDAblu will be spending in Madeira. The New Year's fireworks there – which hold the Guinness world record for the biggest fireworks display – will be launched from around 50 points on shore. AIDAsol will spend the turn of the year in Gran Canaria with an exhilarating New Year's Eve party and a spectacular fire show.

For guests aboard AIDAstella and AIDAaura, it will be a case of "shop ‘til you drop" in Dubai. Both ship cruises include a stop at this Arab shopping metropolis, so every Christmas wish is sure to be fulfilled. In the run-up to Christmas AIDAaura will also be spiriting her guests away to the vibrant, glittering Christmas world of Mumbai.

AIDAbella will be sailing from Bangkok, cruising Southeast Asia during Advent. Those on the hunt for unusual and original Christmas gifts will definitely find something here. On December 24, the ship will be in Cambodia and at the turn of the year, she will be at sea, heading for Malaysia.

Guests aboard AIDAvita, AIDAdiva, AIDAluna and AIDAmar will be enjoying the charms of the Caribbean. Miami, in subtropical Florida, for instance, promises "Santa's Enchanted Forest". Illuminated with three million lights, it is the world's biggest Christmas theme park. Children can present their wish list to Santa Claus in person here. AIDAvita starts its cruises in Miami and will even be spending a night there. On New Year's Eve guests aboard AIDAvita will be able to enjoy the fireworks display against Tampa's typically American skyline.

Meanwhile, guests aboard AIDAprima will get to enjoy winter metropolises. Exclusive tours will be taking them to the most beautiful Christmas markets in Northern Europe, such as Ghent, Brussels, Bruges and Winchester. When setting sail on New Year's Eve, they can look forward to a very special highlight: the fireworks display in the port of Hamburg. The Beach Club will be staging its big Beach Club Party, while those who prefer something exclusive can enjoy a sparkling evening at the Spray Bar – over two decks in the bow of the ship – an event being held in conjunction with Moët & Chandon.

As part of the AIDA+ program, guests will be offered exceptional edutainment and entertainment specials during the Christmas and New Year period. These include the leading success and mental coach in the German-speaking region, Frank Wilde. During the holidays, on board AIDAaura he will be showing guests their hidden, unguessed strengths, how to awaken their creativity, how to avoid mind traps, and how to realize their dreams.

Guests aboard AIDAbella can get some useful beauty tips for the holidays on the Beauty Cruise with Gitta Saxx, author, model and lecturer.

Celebrities are performing aboard AIDAprima at the turn of the year. Comedian Wolfgang Trepper will hold a show in the theater on December 31, 2016.

Christmas on board

Anticipation is half the fun – and that's the motto under which guests will be experiencing the pre-Christmas period with an atmospheric Advent aboard AIDA. Guests can sing Christmas carols together, and make Advent calendars or Christmas gifts, while enjoying gingerbread, cookies and "Stollen". A Christmas market, the onboard stores or shore excursions are sure to turn up the perfect gifts for their loved ones. And they can prepare body and soul perfectly for the festivities at the AIDA Spa.

The festive atmosphere created by Christmas decorations and a sparkling Christmas tree will be enhanced still further by champagne tastings and cookie baking, helping to put guests in a real Christmas mood. In the restaurants, guests will be treated to tasty pies and a caviar buffet, gingerbread mousse and many other delicious dishes. Naturally, our onboard Brauhaus (brewery) restaurants will be serving the traditional Christmas goose with red cabbage and dumplings.

At the Rossini Restaurants an 8-course festive dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will round off the holidays. The AIDA Stars show ensemble and the entire crew will be serving up the Christmas gala, guaranteeing a great festive mood. Our little guests can also look forward to a treat: Santa Claus and his angels will be visiting our ships on the afternoon of Christmas Eve with presents for all the children.

A special highlight will be the Sleepover Party on December 25 at the Kids Club with Christmas stories from all over the world.

New Year's Eve: Ring in 2017 with AIDA

Festively decorated ships, the live "Happy New Year" concert by the AIDA Stars show ensemble, spectacular shows and an unforgettable party promise to make the turn of the year into a very special night full of surprises. There's plenty in store for kids and teens as well. They can celebrate the New Year under the watchful eyes of their hosts and, if they wish, they can spend the night at the Kids Club.

And last but not least, guests can enjoy an 8-course menu on New Year's Eve and the New Year's Eve lounge – essential elements on all ships of the AIDA fleet. In addition, guests aboard AIDAprima can take part in a Dom Perignon tasting, while those aboard AIDAluna and AIDAprima can look forward to a Dom Perignon dinner on New Year's Day.
